500 Faces complete, Flatten It! ready to go!

Blender 3d article

I think everyone is looking for an update right now so I thought I\'d post all of what I have been doing over the last week or so.

500 Face Challenge: The winner of the 500 Face challenge was (very quietly) announced last night. You can find the official results here. While I don\'t think I will ever post the actual vote count for any challenge, I have to say the voting for this one was very close. The difference between first and second was just one vote and the few following weren\'t too far behind either. On the winner page, the honorable mentions are listed in order starting with the most votes, after the winner of course. Again, it was great to see you all participate and I hope the enthusiasm will continue in future challenges.

Challenges Section: Over the last week I worked hard on getting the new challenge section up as quickly as I could. You can find the new challenge section at http://www.darkscarab.com/challenge. All current challenges will be listed in the left most tabs. The summary and results of any challenge, such as the 500 Face challenge, can be found in the \'Completed Challenges\' tab. Lastly, if you are interested in future challenges and would even like to have your say in what direction future challenges go, I would love it if any comments and suggestions are posted in the About Future Challenges tab on the very right hand side. I read all comments and I am usually greatly influenced by your input.

I also made sure to post much more information about how the challenges are run and especially on how winners are chosen. The first challenge didn\'t have much information so I made that one of my priorities before started the second challenge.

Flatten It!: I am sure this part is the one most of you are really looking for. Right after I posted the winner of the 500 Faces challenge, I posted the information for the second challenge, Flatten It!. Basically, every object in your scene must be 2D for this challenge. The winner will take home Introducing Character Animation with Blender, 2nd Edition. If you are interested and want more information on it, head over to the Challenge section.

I hope that clears some things up a bit and look forward to seeing what you guys can come up with for this challenge!
