Community Feeds and Site Updates
Blender 3d article
This last weekend I performed an update to Dark Scarab that I have been working on for the past few weeks. These updates include improvements to the performance, appearance, and the usability of the site. Additions to Dark Scarab include features such as filtering, related items, and autoloading being available on all parts of the site rather than being exclusive to portions of Dark Scarab.
The vast majority of these changes are fairly minor by themselves and you can find them all listed in the forum, but the changes to the blog are the most significant. If you can recall, the blog followed a very simple format and included occasional articles covering updates to the site.
In its place is a feed aggregator that will make it much easier to keep track of new tutorials, articles, and other content created by people in the Blender community. At the time of this writing, there are nine Blender related websites included in the new blog section. You can find them on the Blog page by clicking on the "Feeds" button to the left of the page title. That list also acts as a filter so you can control the feeds you see.
That said, not all sites are included. If you would like your site or know of a site you would like to see added to the blog feed list, send me a message with a link to the RSS Feed and I'll add it to the list. The only restriction is that your feed must be primarily related to Blender3D.
To be clear, this does not mean I will no longer be writing articles for Dark Scarab. You will still be able to access updates to the site through the blog page and the latest articles will be listed on the new Dark Scarab home page.
As always, your feedback on any of these changes are greatly appreciated! Let me know what you think in the comments section!
